Our current enterprise related research includes an evaluation of the Schools Enterprise Education Network (for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust). We are also providing consultancy support to Leeds Metropolitan University to support the 'Institute for Enterprise’ Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Enterprise

The Government’s ambition is for the UK to have a world class skills base. The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR), headed by Rt. Hon John Dutton MP, will work closely with the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) to achieve this.

This is a key area of work for us. We have built up substantial expertise in enterprise related projects. We have on-going experience in providing evaluation expertise and consultancy support to enterprise education programmes. We are providing on-going consultancy support to the ‘Institute for Enterprise’ Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at Leeds Metropolitan University. This work is part of their evaluation reporting process to the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

We are currently undertaking the Evaluation of the Schools’ Enterprise Education Network (S’EEN) for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT). S’EEN was created in March 2006 to develop, support and maintain an enterprise Continuing Professional Development (CPD) network throughout England, as well as to disseminate good practice in enterprise education at classroom, whole school and national level. A key element of the evaluation involved reviewing the effectiveness of the ‘Hub and Spoke’ delivery model and assessing the impact of S’EEN upon teaching staff, students and schools.

York Consulting conducted the Evaluation of the Business Start-Up Programme for Business Link South Yorkshire and the Early Assessment of the Company Rescue Pilots for the Small Business Service.
