Impact Assessment

We have a strong track record of undertaking economic and social impact assessment studies. These have applied to a wide range of contexts, including regeneration schemes, infrastructure projects, individual companies, airports and government programmes.

Our work is based on recognised economic principles such as those outlined in the Treasury’s Green Book, covering economic appraisal and evaluation. This ensures that our assessments are both rigourous and transparent.

Our approach includes assessing the fit of the scheme, project, company or facility with the national/regional/local economic and policy context. Quantitative estimates of gross employment and income are provided. The treatment of any wider economic and social costs and benefits is generally more qualitative, although informed by quantitative indicators whenever possible. In particular, we have developed approaches to assessing quantitatively the environmental costs of relevant proposals.
