The period since 1997 has seen a wide-ranging process of modernisation in UK Local Government and this is set to continue for the foreseeable future. As a member of the Local Government Modernisation Agenda Research Framework Agreement for Communities and Local Government, we have worked extensively on this reform process.

 

We have recently completed a six-year evaluation of the development of capital and asset planning by local authorities in England, and we are currently undertaking a four-year review of the role of property owners in Business Improvement Districts for the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
