Marianne is a Principal Consultant. Marianne leads on large-scale, longitudinal, multi-method assignments for government departments and agencies such as the Department for Education (DfE), HEFCE, TDA and LSIS.
Marianne has lead responsibility within YCL for the 14-19 policy agenda and has worked closely with DfE over the last five years. This includes evaluating pilots to test 14-19 Funding and Organisational arrangements (as preparation for Diploma delivery), undertaking research into 14-19 transport arrangements and more recently research into the 14-19 Qualifications Strategy.
Marianne also leads on our costing and funding research, having reviewed the costs associated with offsite provision to inform 14-19 funding arrangements. She has also undertaken costing studies for the Young Apprenticeships and Increased Flexibility.
Marianne was the project manager of the large-scale, longitudinal impact evaluation of the Key Stage 4 Engagement Programme, which piloted alternative provision for 14-16 year olds at risk of disengagement. Critical elements included scoping the use of a counterfactual to evidence impact on pupil outcomes, and triangulating case study evidence across 15 local authorities.
More recently, Marianne has been involved in managing the National Evaluation of Generations Together (for DfE), a programme aimed at developing intergenerational activities across demonstrator local authorities, in addition to research to explore the role of support staff delivering IAG (for the TDA) and an evaluation of Aimhigher Associates (for HEFCE).
