Helen is an economist and consultant with over five years experience at YCL. She regularly project manages large scale, multi-year assignments for clients that include the DCSF, the Department of Health, HEFCW and ELWa (now DELLS in the Welsh Assembly Government). Helen specialises in research which focuses on issues related to education, children and young people, with a particular emphasis on multi-agency working.
Helen has considerable experience in both qualitative and quantitative research and consultancy. Her skills are regularly applied to a range of methods including focus group delivery, workshop facilitation, survey design and management, data modelling, and conference dissemination.
Examples of projects Helen is currently or has recently led include the Evaluation of the Targeted Youth Support Pathfinders, a study into the training and development needs of Directors of Children’s Services, the Evaluation of the New Relationship with Schools (all for the DCSF), a national survey of taught masters students for the Higher Education Academy and the Evaluation of Children and Young People’s Framework Partnerships, Early Entitlement and Cymorth for WAG.
Helen has also undertaken considerable work in the field of basic skills, undertaking assignments for the Welsh Assembly, the Skills for Life Strategy Unit and the North West LSCs.
