Evaluation of DurhamWorks

DurhamWorks is a partnership project between the local authority and 16 organisations working together to support young people aged between 16 and 24 who are not in education, employment or training.

The project helps young people to develop a CV, search and apply for jobs and prepare for interview. It also provides ongoing information, advice and guidance once a young person has successfully secured a post.

Via in-depth qualitative case studies and a regular pulse survey, our evaluation of DurhamWorks measured the impact of the project on young people’s progression into, and within, employment and training. We also undertook a cost-benefit assessment to demonstrate the saving to the state for each pound invested in the project.
