The Family and Adolescent Support Service was designed to introduce a radical change in the way support for children, adolescents and families is organised in Enfield.
The cornerstones of the service were a 'whole family assessment' approach and customised, whole family interventions, known collectively as 'Team Around the Family'.
Our two-year evaluation included face-to-face research with 25 families supported by the service. We also surveyed all families on exit from the service and had regular qualitative dialogue with social workers, psychologists and youth workers. A cost-benefit analysis compared the costs of the service with the cashable benefits/savings it had generated.
