Health and Social Care Growth Plan for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR)

The LLR health and social care growth plan was commissioned in recognition of the scale of the sector, its importance to the local economy and the workforce challenges it faces.

We developed the growth plan through three stages of work:

  • A quantitative assessment of the health and social care sector, including sub-sectoral composition, economic contribution and workforce characteristics.
  • One-to-one and roundtable consultations with strategic stakeholders, local authority commissioners, NHS workforce planners and representatives from health and social care providers across LLR.
  • Surveys with frontline health and care staff.

The growth plan proposed a series of achievable and measurable actions that partners in LLR have agreed to take forward and which have the potential to deliver demonstrable change and improvement in the sector.
