Health Education England Midlands and East Primary Care Apprenticeship Training Needs Analysis

On behalf of Health Education England, we conducted an independent research study into apprenticeships in primary care in the Midlands and East region.

The aims of this research were to:

  • Analyse the volumes and types of apprenticeships currently being undertaken in primary care.
  • Identify gaps in provision.
  • Explore opportunities for co-investment and make recommendations to Health Education England for increasing participation in apprenticeships.

The research involved one-to-one consultations with Training Hubs and Workforce Transformation Managers across the Midlands and East region. An e-survey aimed at primary care practices generated over 100 responses. We also collated and analysed current and projected apprenticeships participation statistics.
